Sharmila and Gisela with their daughters

Following the life-changing diagnosis of their daughter’s rare disease and ensuing research into treatment options, Sharmila and Gisela each set up a foundation dedicated to raising both awareness and funds for medical research into two what they found out were underfunded areas – paediatric cancer and epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

The BIBI Fund

The goal of The Bibi Fund, founded by Michael and Gisela Niedzielski is simple: funding innovative research with a focus on the rarest and deadliest childhood cancers. In order to make 'The Bibi Fund' a success and ultimately save children's lives we need all the support we can get.

CURE EB

Cure EB (formerly Sohana Research Fund) is dedicated to finding effective treatments and a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa. It was set up in 2011, by Sharmila Collins and husband for Sohana, a young child with a severe form of the condition.
